Rhenoflex awarded of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition.

Since 2016, Rhenoflex has been a member of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition, a global non-profit alliance of organisations in the fashion industry committed to greater sustainability. Now, Rhenoflex has achieved the next level of membership.

In 2021, Rhenoflex successfully implemented two tools of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition’s (SAC) so-called Higg Index and has met the requirements for the next level of membership, allowing Rhenoflex to now bear the SAC title “Foundational Plus”.

The Higg Index is a standardised process specific to the textile and footwear industry, which consists of five different tools that enable companies to measure various environmental and social aspects along the value chain. In this way, organisations can evaluate how sustainable certain processes are and can take concrete measures to improve them. Membership companies that successfully apply these tools attain a higher membership level.

Rhenoflex has made a point of using two tools, “Higg FEM” and “Higg FSLM”, that form part of the Higg Index to drive sustainability along the entire value chain of the company. “Higg FEM” stands for “Facility Environmental Module”, which serves to measure the impact individual sites have on the environment. “Higg FSLM” stands for “Facility Social & Labour Module”, which helps to assess how fair and safe employee working conditions are. Now, the SAC has verified the application of these tools at Rhenoflex in 2021 and has awarded the company “Foundational Plus” membership status.

The Sustainable Apparel Coalition has more than 270 member companies from the global fashion industry, who have committed to implementing social and environmental protection measures.
